2016 Monterey: The Lamborghini Centenario Roadster sells out just as it gets revealed

We car enthusiasts can always expect a grand show from Lamborghini and this year is no different at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. For this year’s celebration, Lamborghini brought an open-top version of the Centenario hypercar.

Naturally called the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, the car is exactly that–a roadster version of the Centenario. This also means the inclusion of the same naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 lifted from the Aventador. In the Centenario however, it produces a whopping 759 horsepower, up from the Aventador’s most powerful rendition of 740hp.

Keeping everything together is a specially designed carbon fiber unibody, which means weight is kept considerably low. The result is a 0-62 mile per hour time of just 2.9 seconds, versus the standard Centenario’s 2.8-second time.

Only 20 Lamborghini Centenario Roadsters will be made, according to AutomotiveNews. But that’s entirely irrelevant because, well, they’re all sold out at $2.3 million a pop. That’s more than the coupe’s price of $2 million, flat.
