Spy Shots: The 2018 Bentley Continental GT gets caught in the winter with EXP 10 Speed 6 looks
Some spy photos from our friends at WorldCarFans surfaced of what appears to be the next-generation Bentley Continental GT. Unsurprisingly, it was largely unwrapped, exposing some new sheetmetal obviously inspired by the last EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept that the company put out not too long ago.
It caught many eyes and looks because of sultry looks, largely from the fact that it highly resembled an Aston Martin. It really isn’t a complaint since Astons are beautiful cars. So why wouldn’t Bentley make the Continental GT look like the EXP 10 Speed 6?
Either way, the next Bentley Continental GT will be built on Volkswagen AG’s latest MSB platform, the same starting points for other VAG stablemates like the Porsche Panamera.
Because of the new backbone, a significant reduction in weight is something to certainly look forward too, especially since the current Bentley Continental GT can crack the 2.5-ton mark when equipped with the W12.
Speaking of which, since the W12 lives in the Bentayga, there’s no reason not to expect the same W12 carryover in the new Continental GT–it’s been a hallmark of the model ever since it was first introduced. For reference, the Bentayga’s W12 produces 600hp and 664 lb-ft of twist. The Continental GT W12, not being a slouch either, should get a similar power figure.
Like the current line, the Continental lineup will be accompanied by a four-door Flying Spur for the third generation while a new shooting brake variant is also rumored to be in the works. But that isn’t expected to happen immediately since Bentley also apparently has plans for a new smaller SUV to sit below the Bentayga.
Head on over to WorldCarFans to see the rest of their spy shots.
