2016 New York Preview: The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class gets a slight makeover and facelift

Mercedes-Benz will be having a decent showing this year at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, which occurs next week. In addition to the first E-Class AMG variant to the latest generation, Merc will be introducing a facelifted and updated CLA-Class.

As expected, the newer model gains some minor and subtle exterior and interior changes to “keep the car fresh.” This means some new colors, new wheel choices, a slightly redesigned grille and front and rear bumpers.

The interior gets a skinnier eight-inch display for the infotainment system and some new appointments to the instrument cluster and dashboard.

Power will be provided by a range of diesel and gasoline four-cylinders with some new 1.5L gas and 2.1L diesel mills being offered for the European lot. Us Americans will still get the usual CLA250 with the carry-over 2.0L turbo-four with 208hp and 258 lb-ft of twist, mated solely to a seven-speed automatic with the choice of front- or 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class will debut at the New York International Auto Show next week with sales launching later this year in the US.
