Report: Alfa Romeo’s crossover could be named the Stelvio

Britain’s AutoExpress reports Alfa Romeo’s new crossover could be called the Stelvio, which sorta makes it sound like it’s named after that flower used to make a sweetener you use for your morning cup of joe.

The report hails in after the hint came from Fiat’s aggressive CEO, Sergio Marchionne, who shared the tip while announcing some new details about production for the overdue Giulia.

The crossover should be ready to be launched sometime in 2018, granted the company stays on schedule, which as of recent, hasn’t exactly been that.

Nonetheless, expect the use of a 2.0L turbochaged four with around 276hp and a twin-turbocharged 2.9L V8 with 505hp and 443 lb-ft of twist.

The Stelvio wouldn’t be the only Alfa Romeo crossover however as two more are scheduled to join the Stelvio by 2020.
