2016 Chicago: Chevrolet announces the Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition

Chevy’s been going quite all out with the launch of its new generation of Camaro, which promises to once again be a direct competitor to the Ford Mustang. Though this year, Chevrolet has a little something more to celebrate as the Camaro actually turned 50 this year.

To commemorate this occasion, Chevy now can sell you a 50th Anniversary Edition 2LT or SS coupe or convertible. This’ll obviously be a strong seller for the most diehard Camaro fans.

Because it starts life as a 2LT or SS, it gets the same 6.2L V8 as the Corvette Stingray with 455hp and 455 lb-ft of twist, with a six-speed manual. GM’s slick-shifting eight-speed automatic is also optional.

This 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro also adds a whole list of extras as expected, such as an appearance package inside and out, with all of the goodies from the RS Appearance Package included.

Sales begin next summer with pricing to be announced a little later on.
