Report: The Dodge SRT Hellcat duo could meet their makers in 2019

Are you a big fan of Dodge’s current offering of the “screw-you Greenpeace” SRT Hellcat duo, the Charger and Challenger? Hoping to get one soon? Well, you better jump on that, since Jeep/Mopar enthusiast site, JeepTrackhawkForums, a site based around the new “Hellcat-ified” Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, heard the Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats might meet their makers in 2019.

According to a supposed internal “source,” all HEMI-powered SRTs in fact might come to an end and be eradicated from Dodge’s lineup by that year. This is not good news for the performance enthusiast, especially the American-loving one.

But SRT’s high-performance mission won’t come to an end apparently, rather the firm’s use of V8s will, in place of some twin-turbocharged V6s, because of CAFE requirements or something.

Of course, nothing’s set in stone, but the elimination of SRT’s use of V8s will really hack away at the company’s reputation for making epic sports cars with honkin’ engines, basically everything the American performance car stood for.

Ultimately, that’s just really sad… Cross your fingers and hope for the otherwise.
