2015 LA Preview: Jaguar-Land Rover will showcase three new models at the Staples Center

Jaguar-Land Rover hopped onto their PR stream to reveal their intent to introduce and showcase a total of three new models at this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show, taking place at the LA Convention center adjacent to the Staples Center next week.

The three models will consist of the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible, the Jaguar F-Pace, and the new XE, all of which will make their North American debut for the first time ever.

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible was revealed not too long ago on the Interwebs, as another attempt at the convertible two-door crossover, following the abomination that was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet.

Then, there’s Jaguar’s first-ever crossover SUV, the sexy-looking F-Pace from the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and Jaguar’s all-new, highly-anticipated BMW 3-Series fighter, the Jaguar XE.

As a refresher, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will come to the US, in limited production, with J-LR’s new 2.0L Ingenium turbo four-pot with 240hp and 251 lb-ft on reserve, with ZF nine-speed automatic and a starting price of around $50,475.

The F-Pace is due to arrive sometime in the middle of next year with Jaguar’s latest Ingenium supercharged AJ-V6, displacing 3.0L with the choice of two power outputs, either 340hp or 380hp. The V6 models will soon be accompanied by a base model with a 2.0L turbodiesel four-banger with 180hp.

Lastly, the XE is the other big news, being Jaguar’s first real BMW 3-Series competitor since the X-Type, even though that really doesn’t count. It sits on an advanced aluminum-intensive modular platform and will be powered by a range of mills. The base model will be the same aforementioned 2.0L turbodiesel four in the F-Pace, with the next motor being a 2.0L gas turbo four-banger with 240hp, and the top choice of the same 3.0L supercharged V6 as the F-Pace as well–that is, until the SVO version shows up to compete with the BMW M3. The XE comes with a starting price of around $34,900.
