Report: Lamborghini rumored to be building a new hypercar

Road&Track once heard a rumor of a new hypercar on the way from the boffins at Lamborghini. We’re not talking about another version of the Aventador or the Huracan, but rather a full-on flagship to compete against the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder.

This rumor was then bolstered by Lambo’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, who confirmed the new model at a recent press conference during the Monterey Car Week. It’s said to be taking a bow at the Geneva Motor Show.

Winkelmann also shared that there will be two more variants of the Huracan due in the near future, which presumably will be a drop top version and a more track-focused, rear-wheel drive variant, similarly to how Lamborghini treated the Gallardo. Though we doubt the rear-wheel drive Huracan will be named after Valentino Balboni.
