The 2016 Audi S8 Plus is an S8, but with a plus, which means more…of something

Just in case you though the current Audi S8 wasn’t enough of a Q-ship, with its turbocharged 4.0L TFSI V8 with 520hp and 480 lb-ft of twist, Audi has one-upped itself with the 2016 Audi S8 Plus.

So where does the Plus go? We start with that same 4.0L V8, which has been reworked to serve up 605hp and 553 lb-ft, and that’s quite a lot more than the standard model.

The result is a 0-62 time of just 3.8 seconds, versus the standard model’s time of 4.1 seconds. But it doesn’t stop there as the S8 Plus also comes standard with the basic S8’s optional Dynamic Package, which means more aggressive sport tuning, a sports exhaust, and standard carbon-fiber ceramic brakes to help cope with that extra grunt. There’s also a set of larger 21-inch wheels for better grip.

The power is still delivered via an eight-speed automatic with Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel drive system while the top run is lifted to a lofty 189 mph, versus the standard S8’s peg at 155.

So if you were ever to find yourself in a similar situation to the car chase from Ronin, you’d certainly be able to outrun any henchmen in a Peugeot with this latest Audi S8 Plus.
