Video: Kars4Kids offered $100 to those who could survive a hot car for 10 minutes

Awareness is being raised for the concern of leaving loved ones in hot cars during hot and scorching weather, which has contributed to the deaths of children and pets alike, simply because cars are rolling greenhouses under the brutal power of our sun.

And simply put, while it’s understandable parents and pet owners have lots of busy things to do, it’s simply intolerable to forget that there’s another living being in the car with you whenever you go out on trips together.

To further bring to attention how bad this carelessness is, New Jersey-based non-profit Kars4Kids challenged around six actors to try and sit in a hot car for 10 minutes. If they managed to last, they’d win $100. Though none of the actors lasted the full 10 minutes and none of the video footage was scripted.

Either way, let this be a reminder for anyone with a car and a child or pet–don’t leave them behind in a hot car!
