Report: Honda’s 2017 CR-V to grow in size, to offer standard seven-seat layout

Honda’s got some big plans for its compact CR-V, quite literally.

According to AutoCar, Honda plans to extend the CR-V to the point where it is only offered in standard seven-seat arrangement. This is in an apparent effort to further separate the CR-V from other crossovers, like the new HR-V.

Though interestingly, the addition of two extra seats in the rear also puts it closer to its larger cousin, the Pilot. Additionally, Honda has a desire to move slightly more upscale to grab the attention of the Volvo XC60 and the Land Rover Discovery Sport. But isn’t that what Acura is for?

Either way, should all go as planned, a reveal in 2017 is expected.
