Report: Mercedes-Benz is eying a replacement for the R-Class

CarAdvice reports Mercedes-Benz might not be done with their R-Class, or that slow-selling minivan/crossover thing that was discontinued in 2013.

After speaking with Wolf-Dieter Kurz, Mercedes-Benz’s head for SUVs and sports cars, expressed the brand’s desire to really capitalize on the popularity of crossovers. This could also mean Mercedes might be interested in coming up with another crossover to fulfil a similar mission to the previous R-Class.

This also coincides with recent rumors that Mercedes-Benz is interested in possibly building some “allroad” variants to the E-Class and C-Class Estate wagons.

The takeaway, we could possibly see a new R-Class successor.
