Report: New Hyundai based crossover to surface in next few years

Not too long ago, a new report from Australia’s Motoring surfaced, indicating that the Korean manufacturer was in the preliminary stages of planning a new crossover based on the Genesis.

This could imply the great possibility that Hyundai’s attempting a new rear-wheel drive crossover to compete against the luxury brands, which they’re slowly trying to do with new models like the Equus, the Genesis sedan, and the next-generation Genesis Coupe.

According to Reuters, Motoring.com’s report is holding out to be true as the crossover is anticipated to arrive within the next several years. Previous rumors suggested the model was already greenlighted, however, another separate source in Reuters’ report says that the decision is on the fence and is contingent on the price of gas around the world.

Either way, Hyundai’s getting serious about an apparent premium crossover. Do you think they could pull it off successfully? We think they can, given how the current Genesis and Equus are.
