Report: TVR’s coming back with a design by Gordan Murray and a Cosworth V8–is this a dream?
A while back, we heard some absolutely fabulous news that TVR Automotive Ltd. is reacquired by a British business tycoon and was on the road to being revived.
From what we also heard so far, TVR was in the works with two new models, described to be “supercars for the common man,” in a sense fulfilling TVR’s original mission. They’re also even working on their own R&D division, so that they can develop some neat concoctions, allowing them to once again be competitive and relevant.
Now, a new report from Jalopnik says that TVR’s new owner, Les Edgar, said one of these new models will sport a design by the one and only Gordon Murray, or the same famous chap who designed the legendary McLaren F1, while also utilizing a dry-sump Cosworth-built V8 with a manual transmission.
Sounds like a match made in heaven, but not much is known about this future TVR, except that production is supposedly slated to begin in 2017.
