Report: Sergio Marchionne wants Jeep to build a Range Rover competitor

Jeep is known to be working on a larger(rumor one, two, three), full-size crossover SUV to sit above the current Grand Cherokee, which could now be considered more of a midsize crossover.

That model is said to be a spiritual successor to the original Grand Wagoneer from the 1970s and 1980s. Since then, Jeep has yet to make a full-size truck or crossover of any sort.

Now however, Bloomberg reports that Sergio Marchionne wants Jeep to make this new Grand Wagoneer into a Range Rover competitor.

“When I see a Range Rover on the street, my blood boils, because we should be able to do a thing like that and we will,” Marchionne said in an interview.

Do you think Jeep has what it takes to make a model to compete with something as legendary as the Range Rover?
