Video: Watch a BMW 135i with an M3 V8 swap make for a pretty bonkers car

There are two things in this world that any automobile guru hold to a high-regard–V8s and BMWs.

This isn’t to say that current BMW models don’t come with one of the greatest powerplant designs ever in history, but some cars were never given the option–one being the BMW 1-Series.

That’s because it relied solely on BMW’s luscious straight-six, which is equally just fine.

But then, Performance Technic by Marco Svizzero decided to do the unthinkable by seeing what a V8-equipped BMW 1-Series is like, by swapping the engine of a E92 BMW M3 into a 1-Series M Coupe.

Not only that, Drive’s Matt Farah gets to drive it.
