The world’s longest road-rail tunnel could be breaking ground soon as CNN reports Denmark and Germany just teamed up to propose a new 11-mile tunnel, potentially making it the longest of its kind. Ever.
It’s called the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link and it consists of a tunnel that can serve cars and trains alike, eliminating as much as two hours from those who otherwise have to commute this route the preexisting way by ferry.
Once completed, it would be a third of the length of the Channel Tunnel linking France and the England by train.
