Report: The Euro-spec Honda Civic five-door hatch could come to our shores

Despite automakers globalizing their cars to make them same across all markets as a way of maintaining consistency while reducing costs to federalize models to specific regional standards, Honda as maintained their ability to make different models for different markets.

For instance, the US market Honda Civic is significantly different from the Honda Civic that Japan’s domestic market gets, or even the one that Europe has on sale.

Now however, Honda might finally be jumping on the globalization train by sending their Euro-spec Honda Civic hatchback to our shores. So in essence, it’s kind of like Honda sending us their Euro three-door hatch from 2002-2003 and calling it the Civic Si, though not really. But it’s close enough!

OutletĀ Nikkei reportedly heard from Honda sources, suggesting the Euro Civic could be exported to our shores as early as the summer of 2016.
