Report: Mercedes-AMG says no to supercar, and Black Series…for now

Mercedes-AMG recently sat down with with AutoCar to say that a supercar from their division is not in the plan in the near future. Such a car would be a replacement for the SLS AMG.

The outlet spoke to AMG’s boss, Tobias Moers, who said that any plans for any type of supercar just doesn’t fit the brand’s “league” at the moment. However, AMG will continue to supply their V12s to Pagani.

When it comes to Black Series models, the story remains the same, for the time being. Moers reaffirms the nameplate and brand isn’t terminated, but rather dormant as the division seeks to work more with the development of hybrid variants.

They also just launched the new AMG GT. So you can also say their hands are pretty full.
