Report: Mitsubishi is preparing to tie the knot with Nissan

It appears Mitsubishi is looking for a little help from some friends as AutomotiveNews reports the small, struggling Japanese automaker may team up with the larger, more resourceful, Nissan brand, for some help. This comes after rumors suggested the possibility of seeing Mitsubishi sell some slightly reengineered and rebadged Renaults.

According to sources, should the deal go through, Mitsubishi could release a new sedan at bare minimum using Nissan’s parts bins. This would most likely be a Galant replacement since the midsize market is a very big gold mine for the brand if they make a good car.

Specifics were kept to a bare minimum, but given Mitsubishi’s current status judging by their limited lineup, they are in dire need of help.
