BREAKING: The Ford Focus RS–it’s basically here

It seemsĀ Evo in the UK got the scoop on the new Ford Focus RS as they just revealed an official photo of the next-generation production model that we’ve all been waiting for. But the best part about this new Focus RS–it’s coming stateside.

The photo leak makes complete sense considering Ford is just about to reveal the new Focus RS in a few hours for the world to see.

Much like speculation and rumors have indicated in the past, the Ford Focus RS is said to come with Dearborn’s latest 2.3L EcoBoost turbo-four, the same four from the Ecoboost Mustang and the Lincoln MKC. Estimations suggest a power rating of at least 250hp, which seems a little low since the last Focus RS made 301hp and 325 lb-ft of torque from its turbocharged 2.5L Volvo-sourced inline-five. Not to mention that 2.3L EcoBoost makes over 300hp in the Mustang.

Other rumors suggest the new Focus RS ditches its front-wheel drive setup for all-wheel drive to handle the extra power, along with brake-sourced torque-vectoring. Additionally, the all-wheel drive system could send as much as 70 percent of the power can be sent to the rear.

Stay tuned for the full reveal soon.
