Video: What happens when you pin a BMW M4 Coupe against a BMW i8 in a drag race?

As the title says–AutoBild in Germany decided to answer this question in a recent video, to see if classic internal combustion still reigns to be superior in the performance department, when compared to the i8’s clever and high-tech hybrid electric powertrain, which comes with a tiny, but potent 1.5L turbocharged motor.

That might not sound like much to the BMW M4’s whopping 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline-six with 431hp and 370 lb-ft of torque, but the i8 ain’t no slouch either, with a total output of around 362hp and 420 lb-ft of twist.

And to even make it more interesting, the M4 is just about as light as the i8 as both weigh in at around 3,300lbs.

Who do you think will win?

Check out the video after the jump. But just as a warning, if you plan on understanding the commentary, you better know some German.
