Report: Jaguar won’t refer to the production C-X17 as an SUV

We already know Jaguar is comprehensively looking to entire the luxury SUV crossover market with big pouncing attack, but don’t for one second expect to call Jaguar’s SUV a SUV.

In a similar marketing stint like BMW naming their crossover an SAV or a “Sports Activity Vehicle,” Jaguar should be calling theirs a “sports crossover.”

“A Jaguar SUV is not possible,” said Jaguar-Land Rover’s boss, Ralf Speth, to AutoCar. Jaguar’s version will be “far more road-oriented.” Let alone, we also point out those who want a luxurious crossover SUV from Britain have all of Land Rover’s choices to choose from.

The production C-X17 gets its backbone from the brand’s new iQ[AI] aluminum platform, also being shared with the new XE. Expected a similar line of engines as well, particularly from J-LR’s new Ingenium line.
