Report: More rumors are back for the RX revival, could be based on new Miata

AutoCar is back with some new RX rumors and reports that Mazda still isn’t willing to let go of its legendary icon.

Around three weeks ago, Mazda’s CEO, Mazdamichi Kogai announced that Mazda isn’t working on a new RX model. But now AutoCar says they’re lying, sort of. Kogai did say Mazda wants to build an RX if a viable business case could be made of it.

Mazda’s managing executive officer, Masahiro Moro, said the MX-5 uses a platform which could be adopted to suit a larger model, like a new RX, while integrating new SKYACTIV technologies.
