Report: Porsche’s new mid-engined supercar on hold
Rumors and hints of a new Porsche mid-engined supercar have been floating about loosely for some time, despite the fact that Porsche has the 918 Spyder.
Porsche’s CEO, Matthias Muller, hinted at the model, which still has yet to be approved for production, according to AutoCar in the UK. But in the latest report from the outlet, the model is on hold for Porsche to focus on more impertinent issues like the next-generation Cayenne and Panamera, along with a completely new family of engines and transmissions.
These models are still a far ways away, however, the mid-engined supercar is envision to battle the more modest Ferrari 458 Italia when compared to the 918’s league featuring the McLaren P1 and the LaFerrari.
Codenames for the model pointed at either 960 or 988 with power being provide by a twin-turbo engine with 620bhp.
