Offbeat: Would you buy this near-museum quality E34 BMW M5 for this insane price?

Every so often, like many of you, I’ll go skimming through eBay or AutoTrader listings, just to plot out my future wishlist of cars to own in the near future. And they’re not always the latest and greatest supercars, but rather some stupendous classics from years past.

Honing in on my absolute love for old and fast German sedans is this absolutely mint condition 1993 E34 BMW M5 that popped up on AutoTrader recently. This pristine example is described to have only traveled a stunning 9,801 miles since being delivered and is 1 of 236 examples built for the North American market in this model year. The seller also claims there is no other car like it on the market right now. And to be honest, he does have a point. Finding a used E34 M5 on sale on the Internet in the country is a challenge in itself, let alone finding one in near-museum nick is like waiting for the Middle East to stop all facets of war among each other to become peaceful nations.

But get this–a car in this condition usually hovers around $20k max, if not a little more. Yet, how much is this guy asking? Wait for it…$95,000. That’s MORE than a brand-new F10 M5’s base price by $1,400.

HA, yea, uhm, what?

Do you think this pristine E34 M5 is worth that kind of dough?

Let us know in the comments.
