Report: Subaru cancels plans for an entry-level crossover

Subaru was curious about introducing a new entry-level crossover amid the booming popularity trend for the segment, with competitors like the Nissan Juke, the Kia Soul, and the Jeep Renegade.

However, AutoExpress in the UK reports Subaru withdrew the idea due to a lack of funds to research, develop, and build the vehicle. The new model would require Subaru to build an all-new platform and a range of small-displacement motors for the crossover, though Subaru has none of the resources to get this accomplished.

Additionally, they predict the model would only be popular in Europe, causing them to be skeptical as to whether or not the entry-level crossover would make a viable business case.
