Report: Hyundai wants to expand lineup with a new entry-level crossover

Hyundai is adamant about producing an entry-level crossover to compete against the new Nissan Juke, according to a new report from Edmunds.

After speaking with Hyundai Motor America’s CEO, Dave Zuchowski, the outlet learned that the model could debut sometime in 2017 with inspiration taken from the HCD-12 Curb Concept from the 2011 North American International Auto Show.

The production model is aimed at “Gen Y” buyers and is likely to follow in similar footsteps as the current Kia Soul, which is exactly what Hyundai seeks to achieve.

Following the launch of the new crossover, should all go well, sometime in 2017, a new Tuscon is expected to follow as crossover demand continues to be at its peak.
