Report: Next Ford Mondeo to share platform with next gen Lincolns

AutomotiveNews Europe recently learned that the 2015 Ford Mondeo will share its platform with several new Lincoln models in the near future. After speaking with Darren Palmer, Ford’s global line assistant director, the suspension and chassis designs were configured to be workable for future Lincoln models in addition to an all-new Mondeo. This will also mean the next generation Ford Fusion for us American lot.

The first Lincoln to use Ford’s new platform is the incoming MKX crossover, which was recently revealed and will soon be launched.

So far, the new Ford Mondeo will be revealed later this year with the new Fusion most likely following within the next year since our Fusion is sold as the Mondeo over across the pond–and they are virtually the same.
