Word in the pipeline via AutoCar in the UK is that Bentley’s incoming SUV crossover may cost around $220,000.
The goal of this pricing is to create a whole new segment of ultra-luxurious sport utility and crossover SUVs–think Germany’s intent to fill every market gap and niche possible. Additionally, the idea is to also fend off less expensive competition by creating a market gap that otherwise currently doesn’t exist. In other words, it will be clear that the Porsche Cayenne or the full-size Range Rover will pose no threat to the success of Bentley’s SUV as a high-end SUV.
So far, the Bentley SUV is also rumored to have a top speed of at least 200 mph while a plug-in hybrid powertrain may be in the works as well, all in the name of exclusivity.
