Report: 2016 Maserati Alfieri to closely resemble concept

When concept cars are introduced, they’ll usually be pretty awesome and outrageous, tickling the senses of our wildest dreams. The only sad part is that the production versions of concepts tend to be extremely diluted from their original aesthetic value and its rare for a production model to resemble its original conceptual design study.

This can be attributed to requirements with changes in design from federal safety mandates and impractical road-bumps during the transition from concept to production form. But for one of those rare moments, PistonHeads recently learned that the Maserati Alfieri will closely resemble the concept model when it launches sometime in 2016 or 2017. The outlet recently spoke with Fiat’s Head of Design, Lorenzo Ramaciotti.

“If you put the concept and the production car together it will be impossible to see the difference,” Ramaciotti was quoted.

The Alfieri was described to offer as much interior room as an Audi TT and Porsche 911. Power is expected to be provided by the same V6s found in the Quattroporte and Ghibli.
