Photo Rendering: This is what a potential IS (or RC) four-door coupe could look like

The four-door coupe recipe is indubitably an extremely successful one–so much in fact that BMW did a little niche filling themselves by creating the 4-Series Gran Coupe, which is essentially a Mercedes-Benz CLS-competing 6-Series Gran Coupe mini-me. And there’s nothing really wrong with that, testifying the fact that the recipe is alive and well.

But because BMW introduced their 4-Series Gran Coupe, it’s only a matter of time until the rest of the world catches up. For instance, rumors have suggested that the 4-Series Gran Coupe will soon be joined by a Mercedes competitor after being beat to their own game. This of course means Audi shouldn’t be too far off with their own with Lexus jumping on the bandwagon as well. To sort of envision what the Lexus could look like, renowned automotive graphic designer, Theophilus Chin, created his own idea of a Lexus RC-based four-door coupe–a potential idea of what an BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe-competing Lexus RC-based model, or IS four-door coupe, would look like (what it would be called beats our guesses, it just depends on who you talk to).

We say, depending on who you talk to because the RC essentially takes the roll of a two-door coupe version of the IS…that said, an RC four-door coupe would essentially be a four-door coupe version of the IS as per branding/nomenclature rules of today.

Either way, the compact four-door coupe segment is heating up and we’re excited nonetheless. And this Lexus rendering proves that the Japanese luxury giant may just have something sexy up their sleeves. Would you buy a four-door RC coupe?
