Recalls: Ford recalls over almost 700,000 Escapes and C-Max Hybrids

TheDetroitNews reports that the recall bug hit Ford recently, involving a total of 700,000 Escapes and C-Max Hybrids. This adds to the growing lists of recalls already going for the Escape.

What gives? Apparently, the 2013-2014 model Ford Escapes were recalled along with some C-Max cars over a software glitch involving the airbags, which may not deploy when needed during rollover crashes. No injuries or crashes have been reported, despite nearly 692,500 models affected.

The second recall involves a total of 692,700 Escapes regarding their door handles. The recall covers an issue where they may not latch properly and could fly open when the car is in motion. No incidents have been reported. Many of these Escapes also have been recalled for the software glitch.

Dealers will inspect and repair the vehicles as needed with owners being notified.
