Randomly Spotted: Mercedes W123 pickup

On the internet…it’s a Mercedes 300TD converted in to a pickup truck, which includes a functioning tailgate. Don’t call it a Brat or an El Camino (though it borrows the bed from one), or even a Sport Luxury Utility Truck, this is a reliable method of hauling the bins to the dump and hosting the occasional tailgate party. Up front is Mercedes’ venerable 3 liter diesel five-banger, which cranked out 120 horsepower when new, but it likely doesn’t anymore.

The car has been driven lightly over the past 10 years and the paint shows a bit of cracking here and there; the self leveling rear suspension does not work and has been supplanted with some aftermarket parts. The current mileage on this sucker is 150K and, at the time of writing, just under a couple of days were left on the eBay auction for this Indy-based truckster. For more details, feel free to check out the listing and, maybe make a bid.
