Report: Land Rover Freelander successor to be named Discovery Sport

AutoCar has learned that Land Rover will be calling their Freelander, or LR2 successor, will be called the Discovery Sport. This is bolstered by the fact that the all-new Land Rover Discovery Concept was revealed at New York last week, hinting at the automaker’s new plan to build a new line of models with the Discovery name. The Freelander successor will most likely be apart of this change.

Not much is known about the concept, except that it will be based off of Land Rover’s latest LR-MS platform, featuring aluminum and composite body parts.
