Report: Subaru apparently mulling WRX hatchback
The 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI are out, but only in sedan form with no mention of return of the five-door.
However, Australia’s Motoring.com heard through the grapevine that Subaru may indeed produce a five-door hatch version of the WRX and possibly the WRX STI.
Fans of Subaru’s beloved high-performance compact were left wondering why Subaru produced no indication of a five-door hatchback variant when half of WRX sales in the US were of the five-door type. Though according to previous reports, a hatchback wasn’t launched due to limited engineering resources.
Nothing has officially been confirmed, but either way, keep your fingers crossed.
