UK Market Jaguar XE gets a supercharged V6

As indicated on Jaguar’s UK site, the BMW 3 Series-fighting Jaguar XE will not just get the 2 liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium engines, but will also get the V6 out of the F-Type. In the F-Type, the engine makes 340 bhp and 332 ft-lbs of torque. The car will be showing up here as a four banger to scare off the BMW 328i in 2016, but will likely show up at some point with the V6 too, it just has not officially been confirmed yet.

Motor Trend tested the F-Type with the softop with the V6 and managed to extract a 4.4 second 0-60 time, though Jag estimates this at 5.1 seconds. They also tested the BMW 335i and got 4.8 seconds, which is pretty darn good for this class, so it will be pretty exciting to see real world figures for a sports sedan that offers performance that would have easily dragged it near supercar territory not that many years ago.
