Report: Significant changes for the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley gets 2,000 preorders for their first SUV

The current Cayenne has been with us since 2010 and it’s time for a mid-cycle refresh. Unlike most refreshes, reports suggest that the revised version of the Stuttgart-based automaker’s SUV will offer a hybrid as it does now with upgrades efficiency and output, possibly incorporating Porsche’s new biturbo 3 liter V6. Outside, the images from Autocar indicate that the changes are a bit less drastic, the rear end now looks like that of the Macan and the front end looks a little more like the car has a bumper and chin spoiler rather than an overgrown lower lip.

The new engine options in this car will likely show up in the redesigned version currently under development; this version will use the Volkswagen group’s MSB platform, to likely be shared with the upcoming Bentley SUV. On the topic of the Crewe-based marque, Bentley have received 2000 orders for their SUV and anticipate a rate of 3000 units per year. This rate will account for an anticipated 50 percent increase in their annual sales by 2018.
