Report: Nissan will build EV sports cars

The now ubiquitous Nissan Leaf, of which there have been over 100,000 sold, will no longer be Nissan’s only stamp in the consumer EV market. A report indicates that there are investments being made in the development of electric sports cars and beyond. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s Design Chief, spoke with Motor Authority about the opportunity and future efforts in the EV market, specifically citing these possibilities.

What does this mean for us consumers, down on the ground? The Blade Glider concept could see production in some form; no this is not something instantly attainable to the populous, but it represents an excellent first step into the EV world, largely populated by boutique EV marques such as Tesla.
