Report: Porsche to offer US Macan with diesel V6, no four-cylinders

Porsche was rumored to be introducing some new four-banger engines for the all-new Macan. Now, a new report is in from CARandDRIVER, who has learned that Porsche will offer a four-banger, but only in markets outside the US.

As an alternative to the US market, a 3.0L turbodiesel Macan S wioth 258hp and around 428 lb-ft of twist will come our way sometime shortly after the Macan S and the Macan Turbo go on sale early next year. Interestingly enough, the Stuttgart-based brand also reassured that there will be no US-bound Macan with any sort of four-cylinder.

Power will be sent to all four-wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Expect the Macan S diesel to also slot between the Macan S and Macan Turbo.
