Report: Some details emerge surrounding McLaren’s next model, the P13

Details have reportedly emerged through Dutch publication, Telegraaf.nl, who learned about the next addition to McLaren’s production portfolio—the Porsche 911 fighting, internally coded, P13.

The new McLaren has been declared to be the automaker’s entry-level model and is due in 2015 in terms of going on sale. It will utilize a carbon fiber “MonoCell” chassis, the same one used to underpin the MP4-12C and the P1 super hybrid.

Go power will be supplied by a detuned version of the brand’s in-house 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 for a rating of 444hp. A convertible version is also said to follow sometime in 2016.
