Video: Mini teases the 2014 Cooper
Mini recently released a video teasing the next generation Cooper hatchback due very shortly for the 2014 model year. The car is to be revealed completely on Monday for a worldly debut at Los Angeles.
The all-new 2014 Mini Cooper is build on BMW’s latest front-wheel drive UKL1 platform, which will underpin virtually every compact front-wheel drive vehicle in BMW’s familial stable.
It will be bigger yet, lighter as a result of more high-tech high-strength steels. A lighter braking system and a revised electrically-assisted power steering system have also helped reduce weight.
Engines have been confirmed to range from 1.5L to 2.0L four-bangers good for 134hp and 189hp. A 114hp 1.5L direct-injected diesel is also expected with 199 lb-ft of twist.
