Report: Spyker’s new sports car to utilize a Lotus made, Toyota sourced motor

Spyker is getting back on form to produce a new sports car, which could be powered by a Lotus engine as part of a new partnership.

Specifics weren’t shared, though Lotus could be supplying a motor from their left over Toyota parts bin. Rumors point to the use of Toyota’s ubiquitous 3.5L V6 complete with a supercharger, much like the one found in the Exige S. That unite is good for 345hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Spyker is also teaming up with other brands to add a stylistic touch to the launch of their new sports car, which would appeal to the frivolous crowd that can afford it.

Orders are supposedly being accepted at $27,170 per car.
