Report: Subaru’s next generation WRX to debut at LA, goes on sale in early 2014 celebrating 20 years

Subaru surprised the world with the at this year’s New York International Auto Show when they revealed the WRX Concept, providing a glimpse for the next generation WRX sports sedan. And according to a new report from Motoring.com.au down yonder, the all-new production model based on this concept will launch in early 2014 as the WRX turns 20 years old.

According to Subaru Australia’s boss, Nick Senior, the new car will debut at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show next month, offering better interior quality, and more kit to boot. Senior also mentioned that the new WRX will also get a boost in performance in the form of a succeeding STi variant.

“Certainly no one wants to dumb down the WRX in terms of its performance edge, [but] I think, as a package, it is a car that is going, in every element, to appeal to a wider audience. It’s our job to get that message across,” Senior told the Australian outlet.

Well, at least we know that Subaru’s WRX is one of the many other worldly reveals destined for this year’s LA Auto Show. Should be in exciting one that…
