Report: Volkswagen officially axes Routan minivan according to report
A new report is out apparently confirming the end of Volkswagen’s badge-engineered Dodge Caravan, the Routan minivan. Of course, the reason for the ending of the Routan was extremely slow sales and only a select few 2014 model year examples have been produced, though none will reach the public for sale.
As of now, there’s no current minivan replacement, other than Volkswagen’s much anticipated production version of the CrossBlue Concept crossover SUV. However, Volkswagen is said to be considering alternatives since the automaker axed their long-standing tradition Kombi MicroBus recently as well.
