Report: Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche to roll out a slew of plug-in hybrids

Word via MotorTrend regards Volkswagen, who recently shared their current plug-in hybrid plans for the near future, including variants for the German auto conglomerate’s familial subsidiaries, Porsche and Audi.

All three automakers will be getting their own plug-in variants. Volkswagen’s Golf and Passat will receive the treatment to make the Golf and Passat TwinDrive. Audi has been known to be in the works with various plug-in hybrids, with the latest one being the A3 e-tron, which is on its way into production.

Porsche’s Cayenne S will be receiving the brand’s E-Hybrid system, which was first debuted on the Panamera S E-Hybrid. Both cars will use a 325hp 3.0L V6 mated to a 95hp electric motor and a 9.4 kWh battery.

All models are expected to be released over the course of the next year and beyond.
