Report: Updated Audi Quattro Concept due at Frankfurt this year

Audi has reportedly confirmed to be introducing a newly revised Quattro Concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, which will serve as a successor to the 2010 concept while providing a glimpse to a possible production version.

Based on a shortened RS7 platform, complete with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 good for over 600hp with a mated 170hp electric motor, the new concept puts out nearly 800hp combined and 737 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four-wheels. A 0-62 time of 3.4 seconds is expected for a top run of 186 mph.

Adaptive sports suspension is standard on the concept as well as a limited-slip differential and carbon ceramic brakes.

A limited-run production version is said to be in the works and set for a time somewhere in the region of 2016 with a pretty commanding price tag.

But we won’t officially know until the debut at Frankfurt.
