GM teases new GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado mid-sized pickups, production slated for 2014

Just as it seems that the mid-sized pickup truck market was dwindling, General Motors has just released a teaser for the all-new next-generation Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups.

Not much was shared in the brief press release, other than statement that production will begin in 2014.

So that said, expect a debut either at one of the up and coming North American auto shows between now and then.

Sneak Peek: New Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon Pickups

2013-08-08

ACME, Mich. – At the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars today, General Motors Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dan Ammann provided the first look at the next-generation Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, designed to be capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups.

Colorado and Canyon will join the all-new 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500s, and the upcoming Silverado and Sierra HDs, to give Chevrolet and GMC the industry’s most comprehensive lineups of pickups, helping customers choose the right truck for their needs.

Production is scheduled to start in 2014 at GM’s Wentzville, Mo., assembly center.
