Report: Jaguar’s SUV crossover headed to Frankfurt for debut
AutoWeek reports that Jaguar’s anticipated crossover will be taking a bow at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September, sources apparently confirmed with the news outlet.
The name is either planned to be the “XQ” or the Q-Type, which will be built on an extended and modified version of Jaguar’s XS platform, based originally off of the XJ’s chassis, also shared with the current Range Rover.
Production is slated for 2015 and will utilize similar powertrain and drivetrain technology as current Land Rovers, while also using Ford’s latest inline-4 that sees duty in the Evoque. A top of the line supercharged 3.0L V6 model is also expected to happen.
