Report: Chrysler to begin production of next gen 200 in early 2014, a new Dodge Avenger also due

In the midst of a report supposedly confirming the beginning of production for the next generation Chrysler 200 in early 2014, word via Reuters also is that Dodge is preparing a replacement for its familial Avenger compact sedan.

The new Chrysler 200 due is said to be based off of the same architecture as the current Dodge Dart and the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Additionally, Chrysler recently invested in their Sterling Heights plant, which will produce the 200 and the new supposed Avenger.

No specifics were shared, though the only inclination as to what to expect is a clause that describes the new Avenger as an “upgraded model.” This of course could mean a variety of things. But until Mr. Ralph Gilles of Dodge, or someone else within the Auburn Hills manufacturer, spills the beans, it’s all speculation at this point.
